FAQ

Do I own my property or am I just buying a membership?

You own your property, just as you would buying any other piece of real estate.
You will select the property you want, whether it's a one acre parcel, acreage, or one of our larger farms we have available in the area. If you pay for the land in full, you will be given a deed that you may record at the county courthouse. If you finance your land through us, you will be given a Land Contract. Once the loan is paid in full, you will then receive the deed.

Are there any community fees?

Yes. There are extensive grounds and amenities to be maintained. A $19 monthly fee will be imposed on each lot. A discount will be provided for annual payment.

Is this off-grid living only? Are there utilities available?

Of course we recommend you build your home with the ability for off-grid living, for a TEOTWAWKI situation. In the meantime, there will be a full array of convenience utilities, including electric; city water; fiber-optic telephone, internet and television service. Each property owner will be required to install a septic system.

May I live in my RV or trailer?

If your home is currently under construction, you may reside on site in an RV or travel trailer for no more than 6 months. We will have an RV site available for weekly rental, should you want to come stay for vacation or attend one of our training classes. The RV site is available for members only.

Will there be building requirements?

Yes. There will be minimum square footage requirements for each residence. All plans and exterior finishes for residential homes and outbuildings must be pre-approved by the architectural review committee. You may use the contractor of your choice or we'll be happy to assist you.

May I build a multi-family dwelling?

No. The community is for single family only, regardless of parcel size.

Must I build a house within a specific time frame?

No. Although we do recommend you build your bug out home as soon as possible, because you never know when the day before is the day before. Prepare for tomorrow.

Do I have to live there full time?

No. The community is created for a TEOTWAWKI bug out situation. Until then, you are welcome to use your home for weekends and summer vacations.

May I have cows, goats, chickens, etc.?

Yes. You will be required to purchase a minimum 5 acre tract; build a barn and fencing approved by the architectural review committee. There will be a limit to the number of livestock on each 5 acre tract. This will depend on the selected animal(s).

Can I have my own garden, even though there's a community garden?

Absolutely. In fact, we encourage it. The community amenities are meant to provide assistance and additional resources. The amenities should never take the place of you having your own preps and supplies.

Is there security in the community?

Yes. In addition to security cameras both monitored and photographic, we will have someone on-site to monitor activity.
